Ceramex signs Service Supply Agreement for Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) Cleaning Service with Halfords AutoCentres.

A rapid, convenient cleaning service for DPFs is now available from the UK’s leading MOT, car service, brakes, repairs and tyres specialist, after Ceramex has signed a Service Supply Agreement with Halfords Autcentres.   The Ceramex cleaning technology, known as Xpurge®, is a patented process that provides cleaning services to some of the world’s largest vehicle & diesel equipment manufacturers. Every filter is subjected to an internal and external inspection pre & post cleaning. Backpressure readings and weight are all compared before and after cleaning. This information is then used to compile a detailed inspection report, showing weight removed and backpressure. This report provides reassurance that the filter has been returned to a good-as-new condition.

Under the new arrangement, Halfords AutoCentres will offer the Industry’s leading DPF cleaning service to its customers. Halfords will use trained service personnel to diagnose and remove the filter, ready for collection by Ceramex.  This service, involving couriers, typically takes 3-5 days with the cleaned filter returned to Halfords with a detailed condition report.

Sean Palmer, Business Development Manager for Ceramex said “we have considerable experience of cleaning DPFs from cars right through to mining equipment.  We’re delighted to create this partnership with Halfords;their reputation and coverage across the UK is paramount to making our service widely available at a fraction of the cost of a new filter.”

Martin Barber, Halfords Category Trading Manager said “This is an exciting new development for Halfords.  Given the number of DPFs fitted and the recent press, Halfords is doing its bit to keep the motorist on the right side of the law and by doing so could save the customer thousands of pounds along the way compared to a new filter.  With the new MOT regulations changing in May 2018 we want to be in a position to offer the best the market has to offer”
